Roomba Q5 Pro The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They feature top-of-the-line motors that can generate up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other top iRobot models (including the top choice), they use smart mapping technology to create detailed floor plans and avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. The robots also have Carpet Boost, a feature that boosts its power when it senses dirt on the carpet. Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors They're also particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. There are some issues however, which prevent them from being our top option. For instance, the Q5's navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology and is therefore prone to get caught up in shoes and socks and can't navigate tightly packed rooms very efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera to see around corners. It's still a great option, especially if you want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot and have a bare-floored home or office. It's also very quiet and works while you're at work or at school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle however. If you're required to mop, the mopping pad can be changed for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of seconds. 2. IRobot Roomba X30 The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to mop floors. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it simple to clean and effective at tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also comes with a self-emptying bin as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, although it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning. This high-performance vacuum and mops utilizes sensors to keep away from obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the structure of your home over time and provide better cleaning. The app allows you to customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average in comparison to similar models. When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to pull back and extend its mops. This helps prevent cross contamination. Its flex arm is also ideal for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ as well as the iRobot Combo j9+. During testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop in the market to clean the entire house with only 66 percent of its battery left. It did a good cleaning job on various floors and rooms with different flooring types, including certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line and it was nimbly avoiding fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables. It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but offers superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after vacuuming it, something we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combinations. 3. Roomba X40 from iRobot This robot vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular look that looks more like the regular Roomba model than the boxy models from the rivals. It's one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is also among its most advanced. It has advanced features, like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads on its own). It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that has an exemplary 10/10 in our tests thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, which include a camera, structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can completely autonomously refill and empty its base station and it boasts the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads. The X40, like other iRobot products, is simple to use. It has an easy mobile application interface, and it is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that it's still quite an eerily noisy device which could be problematic if you run it in the morning prior to work, or at night when you try to fall asleep. It's also quite expensive, though it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are similarly capable and look better. If Best robot vacuum uk to live some more volume and a little more cost, this is a very powerful two-in-one that will satisfy most people. 4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot mop and vacuum. It has a range of features that are advanced and will help you forget your chores. Similar to Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes the care of mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multifunction dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank, cleans and dry its mop pads. The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floorplans and identify obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its premium competitors. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time hazard detection, although this wasn't quite foolproof in our testing and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions. Its vacuum cleaner has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to complete the task. It also features “Intelligent Dirt Detection”, which regulates how hard the vacuum works and also alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home in accordance with the amount of dirt they tend to be. For larger houses it's worth looking for models with spot or zone cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot to clean one particular area of your home by using the app or voice commands. If you have furniture, a stairway mode is also useful. For families with busy schedules, a recharge feature and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to resume where it left off could be very useful. 5. iRobot Roomba RX3 The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you might think from its price. It has a great vacuuming performance and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using only one pad and a reciprocating movement that is more efficient than most of the robot mop cleaners that we've tried. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured application and a self-emptying, washable base. The iRobot app is designed to guide you through a mapping run which collects information about your floorplan as well as any “no go” areas that you've marked on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, plan a spot clean or to prioritize your most filthy rooms to ensure better performance. The app comes with a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings. Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, which means it can reach corners and underneath furniture more easily. It has an impressive 8000 Pascal suction as well as intelligent combs to remove pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner which will thoroughly clean an area. The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras look like cute eyes. It's good at vacuuming but is more prone to be caught by low thresholds and is more noisy than the other top robotic vacuums we've tested. It also has a less intuitive app and a tiny base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.
